This Weekend our Horticulture Manager, Sharon Bartle, attended an intensive 4 day Green Woodworking course at Kirkley Hall in Northumberland run by Maurice Pile.

There she learnt how to make her own Pole lathe and shave horse using only the old methods of green woodworking.

The Lathe and the Horse are now at LionMouth ready to be used by the service users during the autumn and winter months
The course was funded by the donation handed over last month by the Freemen of the City of Durham.

We look forward to seeing what Sharon and the service users can 'bodge' in the lead up to next Christmas.
